IELTS: International English Language Testing System

IELTS, or International English Language Testing System, is an English language exam for non-native English speakers wishing to work or study where English is the language of communication. IELTS has become so well established that, apart from in North America, it is the English language test of choice for immigration authorities and academic institutions of many English speaking countries. As a result, many non-native English speakers find themselves obliged to take IELTS.

Your IELTS Guide is completely independent. It was created because we found so much incorrect information on the internet that we decided to provide a facility where people could rely on the information being accurate and up to date. This is not an easy task for an independent organisation because the IELTS Partners are anything but transparent. However, our independence does allow us to speak our minds. This website contains information supplied by many who work directly with the IELTS exam, including examiners and teachers.

Those of you interested in taking the IELTS test will find hints, tips and strategies to help you reach your potential in the exam. We will also provide links to resources that we feel to be useful i.e. not sites or information that could be misleading. For those of you not yet familiar with the exam, we explain what it is about and how it is conducted. In addition, we will be writing regular articles on various aspects of IELTS!

Anyone interested in IELTS for other reasons, will not only find information about the test but will also be able to read our opinions about it.
